Keith Hill heaped praise on his Barnsley side after they upset the odds at The Madejski Stadium to take all three points against Reading.

The Reds were massive underdogs against last season’s Play-Off finalists but scraped a 2-1 win thanks to goals from Stephen Foster and Matty Done and heroics from goalkeeper Luke Steele.

Barnsley boss, Hill, was quick to praise his players for the performance after a disappointing start to the season saw the Reds lose their first two home games at the hands of Southampton and Middlesbrough.

The former Rochdale manager told the club’s official site: ‘I’m really pleased. I think we deserve it. The players deserve it. Our goalkeeper deserves a reward for the two saves with that victory.’

Luke Steele kept out two of three Reading penalties in the second half as they attempted to grab a way back into the game but Barnsley hung on for the win and moved up the table and on to four points.
