Blackpool manager Ian Holloway has broken his silence on Barnsley’s Adam Hammill.

Holloway told Sky Sports: ‘There are lots of people who would be interested in Adam Hammill. His agent has done a good job and there is a clause in his contract which guarantees you can get him.’

Holloway was referring to the clause in Hammill’s contract which allows him to leave Barnsley for a pre-determined sum of cash, believed to be £500,000.

He continued: ‘We’re not the only ones who know that, but we like the boy and we’ve had him on loan here.’

Hammill spent six months on loan with the seasiders in the 2008/09 season before moving to Barnsley from his parent club Liverpool.

Holloway conceded however that despite their bid being accepted, it’s not a done deal yet: ‘But he’s not my player and there are a lot of things that have got to happen before he is. There are a lot of other clubs who want him, so the boy is in a great situation.’

It truly is a great situation for Hammill who has the pick of a selection of great clubs who all want his signature.

It’s not as good for Barnsley however, who could have possibly been standing there like Del Boy watching the bids get higher and higher, were it not for Hammill’s release clause.
