Striker Will Hoskins is currently on trial at Oakwell with a view to signing a permanent deal with Barnsley.

Hoskins hasn`t played a competitive game for 17 months following several knee operations. He was released by Brighton last month.

Wilson had Hoskins on loan when he was manager of Sheffield United and is confident that he can be a 20 goal a season man if he has overcome his injury problems.

Hoskins has achieved that feat before, with relegated Bristol Rovers in 2010/11.

He began his career with Rotherham where his form earned him a move to Premier League Watford along with Lee Williamson for a combined fee of £1.2million in 2007.

On paper it looks as though this could be a good signing but you never know what a player is going to be like after such a long time out injured.
