Barnsley wouldn’t want to lose Andy Yiadom but Premier League interest from Huddersfield might see the Tykes struggle to keep him at Oakwell?

There aren’t too many chances to play in the Premier League and Yiadom, 25, would be excused for being tempted by this prospect, stepping up from League Two at Barnet when arriving at Oakwell a year ago, but you wonder how much first team football he would actually play? In fact how long Huddersfield’s topflight status would last?

Reported by Get West London, Huddersfield aren’t the only club interested. However, this £750,000 offer from the Terriers would see them rival QPR.

Swansea could be another Premier League option as they too have been credited with interest in the Ghanaian international – Barnsley value Yiadom at £2m.

Far from selling Yiadom though Barnsley are looking to keep the full back and tie him down to a new contact, which is set to expire next summer.

Chief executive Gauthier Ganaye told the Yorkshire Post: ‘Andy has one-year left on his contract and we are aiming to offer him a new deal. We are discussing and hopefully we will find an agreement with him. He did a full season last year and we want him to play a big part next season. We are aiming to offer him a new deal. We are discussing and hopefully we will find an agreement with him.’
