It was inevitable that Barnsley would draw Everton in the second round of the league cup shortly after Mason Holgate made his move to the Premier League club. This type of occurrence seems to happen in football.

When Everton visit Oakwell I hope that they put out a strong team. I would like to see them play both Stones and Holgate on their return to Oakwell but I get the feeling that they will rest Stones, assuming he is still at the club.

I would like to see Stones progress and become an England regular and I believe he would be best served staying at Everton for a bit longer for that to happen.

However if he were to move to Chelsea then the financial benefits to Barnsley are more important than a player that has left the club.

How much would we see invested in to the team though? Will we ever get a new scoreboard? Not that I care one bit about the scoreboard but a lot of fans seem to for some reason.

Hopefully the money we have received for Holgate can bring three or four players in before the end of August. I won`t hold my breath but I believe we do need that many to mount a promotion push.
