Last season’s top scorer Jamal Campbell-Ryce has set himself the target of 15 goals this season.

After two seasons with Barnsley, the diminiutive Jamaican winger has grown into his position at the club, improving year on year and scoring more each season.

The 26 year old has turned down moves to big club’s to stay with the team he loves and after a hard working summer without a break due to international duty in the Gold Cup, he has returned to the squad raring to go.

Speaking to the club’s official website, Jamal said: ‘I can’t wait for Saturday. I know I need to get more goals and it is important for our midfielders to contribute.’

Jamal will be looking to kick off his goal trail tomorrow at Hillsborough with one against Sheffield Wednesday in the season opener. He scored in both fixtures against the Owls last season in victories for the Reds.
