Conor Hourihane was conspicuous by his absence for our opening pre-season friendly on Saturday at Stalybridge Celtic.

We’ll be without our midfielder for the next ‘three or four-weeks’ due to a knee injury.

Head Coach Lee Johnson confirmed on the Official Website that a medial knee ligament injury had been picked up in training and this will keep him out for up to a month.

‘Conor Hourihane is going to be out for probably three to four weeks. He picked up a medial knee ligament injury in training the other day.

‘That’s my biggest fear, injuries. We’ve got Adam Davies who should be back with us next week as well.’

Not only did he miss this opening pre-season friendly he would have to be considered a serious doubt for our opening League 1 game you’d have to think without a pre-season under his belt?

This is a setback but fortunately, and it could have been much worse I suppose, we’ve got to be grateful that it is only three or four-weeks.
