Having played out the scoreless draw in the hard fought described game, Johnson was pleased to see Barnsley’s unbeaten run stretch to seven games now with only one goal conceded.

Speaking to the Official Site following the game, Johnson explained.

‘I have to say I’m pleased. I know you probably shouldn’t say your pleased with a point, but I knew it would be a tough game, I knew coming here after a tough game on Saturday would be emotionally draining. I changed the shape – did it work? Probably not in my opinion so I have to take a little bit on the chin there, but I changed it pretty quickly. The minute we went back to the 4-3-3 we were good then.’

Johnson went on to say that from that point he felt we kept and moved the ball around a lot better in the game, and from that point he felt we were relatively in control, despite the game being hard work, and were largely ‘okay.’

‘The keeper dug us out a couple of times. He’s saved us a couple of points already in this run and probably saved us a point today.’

Another positive for the gaffer was that we kept creating chances in the game and were getting into good areas of the pitch, but that final bit of quality was lacking for him, so the disappointment was we had no ‘end product’ but hopefully that will come again.

Ultimately he just had to accept that.

‘I have to say in the grand scheme of things that was a decent point.’
