Manager Lee Johnson and midfielder Ben Pearson have both given their thoughts ahead of the game against Blackpool this weekend.

Starting with the gaffer, he told the Official Site ahead of our trip to Bloomfield Road that we had no fresh injury worries ahead of the match but that we’d have to be focused because it will be a tricky game in his eyes.

Of course he wants us to build on the Swindon victory as well.

‘Everyone other than those three mentioned are fine. We`ve all had a smile on our face this week after a good win. I think we are set up to be consistent now. We`ve had a big week working on communication again and it`s helped.’

The three mentioned are Ryan Williams who was subbed in the first half with injury, but he got an hour in our recent U21 match and came through fine. Dan Crowley had a slight thigh tear but he’s made good progress this week and could be in contention. And finally Joe Rothwell is back in training after a bout of tonsillitis.

‘The consistency of our results now depends on communication. We have a good chance of getting results in most games if we can do that.’

As for Blackpool more specifically, he went on to say that whilst they have had a frustrating start to the year, he feels they will only get better and will prove a dangerous outfit this year.

‘Blackpool are a decent side. They spent a lot of money this summer and they will be frustrated at the start they had. Their forwards are lively and effective, I know Martin Paterson and he is a very good signing. Against Gillingham they were very unlucky not to get a result as they worked hard, so it will be tough for us and we need to focus.’

As for Pearson, he was also focused on the fact that Blackpool would be out to give themselves a bounce and cause an upset given our relative forms.

‘Blackpool have got to pick up points eventually from somewhere and I`m sure they will be looking to beat us at home on Saturday. We will have a game plan and we have some good players, I`m sure we`ll cause them some problems as well.’

With Blackpool new to the league Johnson would’ve done his homework on them but at the point of the interview Pearson admitted he didn’t know an awful lot of what to expect from them.

‘I know last season they struggled. Joe Rothwell was there last season but he didn`t play much. This season, I`m sure they`ll be looking to push on. I know centre-back Lloyd Jones and striker Kwame Thomas on-loan from Derby. They have got a bit of firing power with him. They have brought in a few good loan players that I know and they will be good in this league and I`m sure they will be a good side eventually.’
