Speaking to the Official Site following the game, and obviously pleased gaffer explained.

‘I’m really pleased. Obviously, Huddersfield are a Championship side and a good one at that. For us to form a new team, if you like, and play as well as we did against a good side – I’m delighted. You can see what we’re about. You can see we’re young and inexperienced at times but you can see we’re talented as well. We hope that talent comes through sooner rather than later.’

Johnson was quick to point out though that nobody could get carried away because pre season games, even derbies, are different from the cut and thrust of league encounters and he knows League One is going to be a ‘fierce’ battle but of course we can take the positives nontheless.

‘It’s a case of being brave and trying to implement our game on the opposition. I thought we looked strong as a squad. I thought Dan Crowley, on his debut, was superb. At 17-years-old to be able to handle the ball like he can. We’ve still got bits to work on. It’ll take eight or nine games. It showed we needed to build into the game.’
