Barnsley are in Johnstone’s Paint Trophy action against Wigan at the DW Stadium on Saturday with this a 3pm kick-off.

This, not on this weekend anyway, isn’t the cup competition that either side wanted to be playing in tomorrow but with both Barnsley and Wigan knocked out of the FA Cup in the first round this area semi final has been brought forward to compensate a free weekend!

Wigan have often ‘rotated’ for this competition so Latics boss Gary Caldwell is likely to do this again. Yanic Wildschut (hamstring) could be left out again with Kevin McNaughton (knee) out long-term.

Lee Johnson could give Ryan Williams (groin) a start after he came off the bench against Sheffield United last weekend with Lloyd Isgrove (hamstring) set to be fit.

But Marc Roberts (knock) could miss out whereas Burnley loanee Kevin Long (suspension) continues his ban.

The Reds will hope for a positive result, to progress into the area final of the JPT, but will this happen?

Whatever the line up expectancy will be high of at least one more tie, and ahead of the game we’re looking for your views on what way you think it will go, which obviously requires you to vote in the latest poll one of two ways….

Barnsley win
Wigan win

Not only do we want you to cast your vote, which you do to your right, we’re also looking for your thoughts and views too so do share some of those with your comments below.
