Reports have been rife for over a month now that Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Andy Keogh may be on his way to Barnsley, but nothing as yet has happened.

With Wolves having survived in the Premiership, manager Mick McCarthy will be looking to strengthen his front line by spending millions of pounds, making it even harder for Keogh to force his way into the first team at Molineux.

This paves the way out of the club for the 24 year old, who won’t want to wait around for another year kicking his heels in the reserves.

Barnsley are not without challengers for Keogh’s signature however, with Doncaster Rovers also keen to take the striker on a season long loan.

He may also fancy another crack of the whip at his first club Leeds United, who stand a great chance of a second successive promotion.
