Barnsley collected all three-point against Port Vale at Oakwell on Saturday afternoon thanks to a two-goals in a couple of minutes either side of half time.

Deep into first-half injury-time we took the lead, barely a minute into the second half we gave ourselves breathing space in our eventual two-one win.

With half time looming Neal (45+2) scored an own goal, deep in first half injury-time, when the Port Vale ‘keeper fumbled the ball into his own net. A minute into the second half Man United loanee Pearson (46) made it two, with the help of a deflection past Neal.

At the midway point of the second period Daniel (66) gave Port Vale hope but it wasn’t enough, with Pearson clearing a Pope effort off the line and survival a penalty appeal, as we saw out a two-one win.
