Well, if the sacking of Danny Wilson hadn’t come after the midweek defeat to Fleetwood then it would have come after a hammering at Crawley – assuming the result would have been the same under him….

Barnsley’s away form hasn’t been good but with caretaker duo Mark Burton and Paul Heckingbottom in charge it didn’t get any better with us being thrashed five-one by Crawley at Broadfield Stadium

We started well enough, and looked the more likely side to score with Crawley ‘keeper Price the busier of the two, saving well a few times included a header from Holgate, from a Hourihane corner, that he tipped onto the bar.

Turnbull kept our the Crawley threat until injury-time when McLeod (45+2) lobbed him having been put in by strike partner Pogba’s knock-on to give them a half time lead.

Minutes into the second half Bradley (48) followed up after Turnbull couldn’t hold a freekick to make it two with breathing space coming on the hour when Elliott (59) headed home.

Hemmings (65) came off the bench to give us some hope just before the midway point of the second half but this was soon dashed when McLeod (73) Crawley’s fourth with McLeod’s (83) hat-trick complete in the final minutes.

Following this game, as is customary of course, attention now turns to the MotM for us – who you think this was?
