Barnsley, once again and for a fifth-match in a row, were beaten when Fleetwood won one-nil at Oakwell in League 1 on Saturday.

The Barnsley run continued with another defeat as Fleetwood became the latest side to beat the Reds, home or away, with a Jamie Proctor first half goal enough to see the Cod Army go away with the points and move them out of the relegation place.

Moving out of the bottom four came at the expense of Barnsley, with Lee Johnson seeing his side drop to 21st!

The other results last weekend were as follows:-

Saturday 24th October
Sheff Utd 1-2 Millwall
Barnsley 0-1 Fleetwood
Blackpool 2-0 Crewe
Bradford 1-1 Wigan
Burton 2-0 Port Vale
Chesterfield 0-3 Scunthorpe
Colchester 4-4 Walsall
Gillingham 1-1 Southend
Peterborough 4-0 Doncaster
Rochdale 0-0 Oldham
Shrewsbury 2-0 Bury
Swindon 2-2 Coventry

Looking at these results the stand out ones have to be the wins for Millwall, we have to face it Fleetwood and Shrewsbury?

Millwall would have gone into the early kick-off on Saturday as ‘underdogs’ to Sheffield United but the Blades couldn’t tame the Lions who went away from Bramall Lane with the points after a two-one win.

Both Fleetwood and Barnsley have struggled of late, the Cod Army during the duration of the season really and this has seen them in the bottom four for large periods and of course cost Alexander his job! A one-nil win was secured at Oakwell though as the hosting Reds’ struggled continued, as did a losing run that increases the pressure on Johnson too!

Defeats are like buses for Bury at the moment, away ones for sure, as you wait for ages and then along come two (unwanted ones from a Bury point of view at once) as the 17-match unbeaten run that was ended at Bradford was followed up by another at Shrewsbury, who have struggled at home, with the Shrews claiming the points in a two-nil win at Greenhous Meadow.

Barnsley are back in action with another game, probably a must win one for Johnson, against in-form Scunthorpe at Glanford Park on Saturday.
