Not bad way to get back to winning ways, and put a run of back-to-back League 1 defeats behind you was it, with a four-one win against previously unbeaten Swindon last Saturday!

It didn’t start so well, for Barnsley or Nyatanga (20), as his own goal saw Swindon take the lead but the Reds were level through Watkins (22) fairly swiftly and two-one up by half time when Wabara (44) scored.

Nyatanga (59) scored at the right end with Hourihane (76) sealing the points.

The other results last weekend were as follows:-

Saturday 12th September
Barnsley 4-1 Swindon
Burton 1-0 Rochdale
Chesterfield 3-3 Colchester
Crewe 1-3 Millwall
Fleetwood 1-1 Bradford
Gillingham 2-1 Blackpool
Oldham 1-5 Peterborough
Port Vale 3-2 Wigan
Scunthorpe 1-0 Coventry
Sheff Utd 1-3 Bury
Southend 0-1 Shrewsbury
Walsall 2-0 Doncaster

Looking at these results the stand out ones have to be the wins for, of course, Barnsley, Peterborough and Bury!

Having sacked boss Robertson before the game Peterborough, as so often happens, reacted to thrash Oldham five-one at Boundary Park….a result that cost Oldham boss Kelly his job with him sacked after the defeat!

The result of the weekend, which could be argued I suppose, has to be the win Bury had at Bramall Lane against the form side in League 1 Sheffield United. The win was made all the more impressive with this coming as the Shakers as the visitors to the Blades.

Barnsley are back in action this weekend with a League 1 game against struggling Blackpool, not that the Reds will take them lightly, at Bloomfield Road.
