An unbeaten run, albeit only three-matches, came to an end when Barnsley were beaten two-one by a last minute winner at Doncaster on Saturday.

Doncaster were ahead at half time when Anderson (35) deflected a Chaplow effort past Townsend but on the hour Barnsley were level when Winnall (60) headed in a Hourihane corner.

Chaplow (90) won it for Doncaster at the death.

The other results this weekend were as follows:-

Saturday 3rd October 2015
Blackpool 1-0 Swindon
Burton 1-0 Southend
Colchester 0-1 Bury
Coventry 3-0 Shrewsbury
Crewe 1-2 Chesterfield
Doncaster 2-1 Barnsley
Gillingham 3-3 Oldham
Peterborough 5-3 Millwall
Port Vale 2-1 Sheff Utd
Rochdale 1-3 Bradford
Scunthorpe 1-0 Fleetwood
Wigan 0-0 Walsall

Looking at these results, and there were some high scoring games, the stand out ones have to be the wins, sadly for Doncaster along with Blackpool, Port Vale, Bradford and Scunthorpe.

Blackpool’s struggles are well documented but a home win over Swindon should act as a boost with the Tangerines seeing off the Robins, who have been up and down in their form recently, one-nil.

Port Vale’s win at Vale Park against a Sheffield United side, that had recovered from a previous run of defeats; wouldn’t have been something many might have expected but Vale recorded an impressive two-one win.

Another in-form side going into the weekend were Rochdale, whereas Bradford have, struggled but it was the visitors that went away from Spotland with the points after a three-one win that could get the Bantams going again.

On the topic of ‘strugglers’ both Scunthorpe and Fleetwood have been struggling this season, the meeting of the two ended with the Iron picking up a much needed three-points after a one-nil win over the managerless Cod Army at Glanford Park.

Barnsley are, of course back in action, this midweek with a JPT game against Bradford at Valley Parade tonight then League 1 against Crewe at Gresty Road on Saturday.
