That win Barnsley have been searching for, craving for even, finally came on Saturday as the eight-match losing run came to an end with a dramatic late win at Oldham!

Barnsley were set to stop the losing run, but with a draw after a Hourihane opener, from distance, was cancelled out when Yeates drew Oldham level late on with it looking likely to end in that said a draw….the Reds struck!

Burnley loanee arrival, earlier in the week, Long marked his debut with a winner in the last minute to give Barnsley a two-one win!

The other results at the weekend were as follows:-

Saturday 21st November 2015
Bury 1-0 Burton
Coventry 4-1 Gillingham
Crewe 1-5 Peterborough
Doncaster 0-2 Rochdale
Fleetwood 5-1 Swindon
Millwall 4-1 Colchester
Oldham 1-2 Barnsley
Port Vale 3-2 Chesterfield
Scunthorpe 0-2 Bradford
Southend 1-0 Blackpool
Walsall 1-1 Sheff Utd
Wigan 1-0 Shrewsbury

Looking at these results, and we’ve seen some high scoring games, the stand out ones have to be wins for Coventry and Fleetwood.

I’ll give a notable mention to the goalscoring exploits of Peterborough (once again) and Millwall though against Crewe and Colchester, respectively.

Gillingham went into the weekend as League 1 leaders, however following a rampant first half display when Coventry ripped the Gills apart the four-one win at the Ricoh Arena saw the Sky Blues gain top spot!

Both Fleetwood, who beat Barnsley recently, and Swindon have struggled this season – both have replaced the boss too! – and in this battle of the strugglers the Cod Army recorded an emphatic five-one win at the Highbury Stadium.

Barnsley are back in action tonight when the Reds travel again, this time to free-scoring Peterborough!
