Barnsley boss David Flitcroft is expecting to sign a left back on loan before the next game against Middlesbrough.

The Barnsley manager has said that he has many irons in the fire and that he expects to have one of them signed on by the middle of next week.

The identities of the players he has been tracking is unknown but some are with Premier league clubs, some with Championship clubs and some are playing in Europe.

Whilst another left back on the books would be welcome, the reds currently have a centre half crisis with Cranie the only out and out centre back who is 100 per cent fit.

Flicker has favoured four at the back in recent games but if none of the injured players prove their fitness he may revert to back three of Wiseman, Cranie and Kennedy as he doesn`t believe Hassell has what it takes at this level anymore.
