Manager Lee Johnson and Barnsley have secured the loan extension of Burnley centre half Kevin Long.

The 25 year old centre half moved to Oakwell back in mid November on a loan deal and having already extended that once, we have now managed to extend it for a further spell.

Having scored on his debut in our victory over Oldham Athletic, he was sent off in his second match, but so far has seven appearances to his name.

During his time with us, our turn in form of late has seen us move into 17th place in the table and across his games we have taken 12 points from six matches.

His loan will now expire on Saturday January 30.

Johnson told the Official Site of the extension.

‘Kevin has been great to have around and has been a solid addition to our group. We’re really pleased he’ll be sticking around for the next three games at least.’
