Barnsley are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Kevin Long in the one nil victory over Swindon Town at the weekend at the County Ground was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Long was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Barnsley made it six Sky Bet League 1 wins in a row after grabbing a late win away at Swindon Town on Matchday 29. The Tykes’ defence continued their fine recent form with Long starring in the back line, before Sam Winnall popped up with the crucial strike.’

It’s always good to see us represented in this way, and well played to Long for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course the three points.

Full Team:

Barry Richardson (Wycombe Wanderers), Scott Golbourne (Bristol City), Will Aimson (Blackpool), Haydn Hollis (Notts County), Kevin Long (Barnsley), Peter Whittingham (Cardiff), Johan Berg Gudmundsson (Charlton), Sean McConville (Accrington Stanley), Will Grigg (Wigan Athletic), Ben Williamson (Cambridge), Jack Compton (Yeovil).

Manager – Keith Hill (Rochdale).
