The Football League took to social media recently to gauge fans thoughts on who would make up the best Football League Emerging XI.

Barnsley’s Alfie Mawson featured heavily in the fan vote following his performances last season across his 50 games for Wycombe during a season long loan spell from Brentford and Wycombe’s season did see them become finalists in the League Two Play Off final against Southend where they took them to penalties.

He moved to Oakwell over the summer.

Having made his debut back in 2013-14 for Brentford against Derby county in the Capital One Cup – it was the only game he played for them – he took in loan spells with Luton, Welling and then Wycombe so he arrives at Barnsley with a total of 62 games under his belt – with a return of eight goals – seven of them came in 2014-15.

The full eleven as decided upon by the fans.
