There are strong suggestions coming from Oakwell that caretaker boss Micky Mellon will be given three games to prove that he can become the permanent boss at Barnsley.

Mellon came to Barnsley with a decent CV from his time managing Fleetwood and many credit his input for the fact that Barnsley were able to avoid relegation last season.

If he wins his first three games then surely we would deserve the job but I am not convinced he is answer.

Maybe he could have another ‘Flitcroft` effect on the team but this time next year the club would probably be at the bottom of the Championship and Mellon will be the one getting sacked.
