Spanish full back Dani Pinillos has said the side need to move on quickly from defeat to Middlesbrough and focus on a big week at Oakwell for the side.

Having travelled to the Riverside Stadium and suffered a three one defeat following a poor opening 45 minutes, the January arrival said that confidence remained high in the group but we need to start performing for 90 minutes and not just the second half as he echoed Jose Morais’ post match words.

Speaking to the Official Site as he looked back to the weekend’s action, he explained.

‘The two early goals cost us. They were much better than we were, they came flying out of the blocks and punished us for a sloppy first half. We had the better of the second half, we created clear chances and could have actually got something from the game, but our start cost us. Middlesbrough are a really organised team, they have quality players in every position, they work so hard and make it difficult for sides to break them down. But again I say, we have to start better than that.’

With Norwich up next in midweek before Saturday’s tie Millwall, he was confident that a 90 minutes performance at the levels we’ve shown ourselves capable of reaching would see us walk out with all three points and take full advantage of our game in hand.

‘We have to move on now, we can’t do anything about this game. We have a game at home on Tuesday and we need to focus on that. There have been positives to take from some of the recent games I think, we gave ourselves too much to do in the last two matches but in them, we proved we can hurt these teams. We are actually confident as a team that we can get the results we need. After the second half today, we know we have the capacity to perform well. We’ve shown that at Cardiff, Hull and in Birmingham too. But we do have to make it count now with three points, hopefully on Tuesday and Saturday this week!’

Pinillos ended by thanking the fans for sticking with the side once again.

‘We have some really good fans and I want to say thank you to them for their support today. I know that they will be with us right until the end. Thank you for getting behind us and let’s hope we reward that with more points.’
