No Doctor Can Help Foster

If there was one player that deserved to play in Sunday`s Cup semi-final then it was definitely Stephen Foster.

So far he has been in contention for player of the season, although it looks as though the former Burnley man will watch from the stands at Wembley as he sustained a bruised foot last week.

Stephen has been instrumental both in the league and Cup so far, scoring a back heel way back in the third round at Oakwell against Blackpool. The defender also went down in history at Anfield when he connected with a splendid Martin Devaney cross after out jumping Jamie Carragher to nod home the Tyke`s equaliser.

A despondent Barnsley boss told the club`s official website:

“He has a badly bruised foot. It`s very unfortunate for him but he wont be fit in time for Sunday”.

Who can step into Foster`s place is yet to be decided, with fellow centre half Nyatanga cup-tied, Bobby Hassell may play along side Dennis Souza in the backline with Sam Togwell returning to the middle of the park.
