Norwich in for Hecky?

According to the bookies Norwich City have targeted Barnsley boss Paul Heckingbottom as one of the front runners for their vacant manager position.

This is no real surprise with the job that Hecky has done at Barnsley. He is bound to attract interest from top Championship clubs.

The question is though; will he stay with the reds? Or is there a chance that he could leave? If not for Norwich then the next opportunity that will come along?

It is my belief that Hecky would like nothing more than to stay in charge of Barnsley. However that doesn`t necessarily mean that he will stay with the reds.

I think a lot could depend on what happens at Oakwell over the next few weeks and months.

For me it will depend on which players leave in the summer and how much money he is given to continue to build this team and club.

If Scowen and Watkins were to leave on free transfers and say Yiadom and Roberts or MacDonald get sold then he`d probably be thinking what would be the point in staying and who could blame him.

Barnsley need to show more ambition in terms of contracts and signings if we are to keep our head coach otherwise there is just no possibility of this club progressing from what we have done this season.

Norwich have genuine ambitions of reaching the Premier League again. They have money and they are willing to spend it.

Hecky is a Barnsley lad who genuinely loves club but who wouldn`t be attracted to Norwich if they are genuinely interested in his services? It would surely be difficult to turn them down.
