Lewin Nyatanga’s been offered a new contract to extended his stay at Barnsley, which his form last season suggests we’ll definitely want to be the case, but as yet this new deal hasn’t been signed.

If the Star is right he’s ‘weighing up his options’ before committing his future with a two-year contract on offer but that might not be enough for him to stay at Oakwell. It’s also thought he could be waiting for a Championship offer, should that come he’ll accept the step up.

Should this two-year contract not be enough then an improved offer of three-years might do it as that’s an option that could be on the table, if it helps!

One of those that was allowed to leave, as Lee Johnson didn’t want to extend his contract, was Rhys Oates but he’s lined up a new club as he’s put pen to paper on a contract with League 2 outfit Hartlepool.
