Barnsley striker Kayode Odejayi will make his move to Colchester United permanent in January after both clubs agreed an undisclosed fee for the Nigerian.

Odejayi has spent the last three months on loan at the U’s, scoring seven goals in seventeen appearances.

The big forward had endured a tough time at Barnsley with more lows than highs, often inducing boos from the home crowd at Oakwell because of poor finishing.

He seems to have found his scoring boots in League 1 however and Aidy Boothroyd has seen fit to sign the striker on a permanent basis.

Odejayi made 82 appearances for the Reds, scoring five goals.
