Blackburn Rovers winger John O’Sullivan signed off his loan spell at Oakwell with a man of the match display against Preston at the weekend.

The 21 year old was again in fine form and showed exactly why manager Lee Johnson was hopeful of extending his time with us for longer.

Since arriving at the club just after mid February, the youngster has gone on to make seven starting appearances for us, with an additional one from the bench and he’s clearly a player with a bright future ahead of him.

Speaking to the Official Site as he departed, the gaffer said.

‘I’m sad to see him go because I’ve enjoyed working with him. He’s a good lad, really willing to work and improve – which I like. He asks a lot of questions, which is good. Hopefully, he’ll go back and play for Blackburn.’

With Blackburn taking him back owing to a loss of numbers for them, their manager Gary Bowyer has confirmed he returns to Ewood Park for involvement in the first team which somewhat lessens the blow for us.

In his eight games, we picked up six wins and two draw – and conceded only twice.
