Our Night With Flicker

We were in attendance at the Lamp Room Theatre last night for an evening with David Flitcroft.

Wow what can I say. Is he a football manager or a motivational speaker!
I can see why he the team are playing for him the way they are. I went home feeling up beat and motivated with the inspiration to give my best.

David is a grounded guy from a working class background, I have a phrase but that`s a headline for a later date!

I have to say that he knows some major players within the game, this is evident through is deadline day dealings. John Stones to his mate ‘Moyesy`. Also dealings with Pulis and ‘Robbie Martinez`. He certainly has the words to motivate any player within our club, like wise he has the life experience to know when nothing can be done and how to deal with testing characters Mido was given as an example.

Flicker spoke around the fact that nobody appeared to want the job at Barnsley, he was asked by people within the game why this was the case. He did not appear to know. However he did go on to speak about putting out a number of fires both above and below him, so could these fires have been the reason? What were these fires?

Going on he spoke about Keith Hill and often referred to him as the ‘gaffer` hope that was only for the night and that the people at the club are aware that Flicker is the gaffer. David was touched when a fan asked how Keith was getting on and thanked the fan for asking.

When asked who he would sign if you could have any championship player his response was a defiant George Boyd, even if he is blind!

The greatest concern for the gaffer like many of us the bounce back ability when we suffer defeat. I am sure that the bridges have been built through this run that the fans will stick with the players.

All in all a great night with a grounded man who will give our club everything in his power. Thank You Flicker
