A week after the 5-2 thrashing of Yorkshire rivals Leeds United, Vital Barnsley’s poll for the Man of the Match has come to an end.
The result was a resounding victory for debutant Garry O’Connor. The Scottish international striker signed on a one month loan deal from Birmingham City the weekend prior and made his Reds bow at Oakwell in the clash, capping it off with a superbly taken goal to level the proceedings just before half-time.
Here are the results of the poll in full:
Steele 8%
Hassell 0%
McEveley 0%
Shackell 0%
Foster 0%
Arismendi 26%
Butterfield 0%
O’Brien 0%
Hammill 13%
O’Connor 53%
Gray 0%
Despite Adam Hammill having a hand in four goals and scoring a brilliant solo effort himself, he only managed to poll 13% of the votes, which was enough for third place, behind goalscorer Diego Arismendi on 26%.
The next Vital Barnsley poll is up and asks for your Man of the Match from the Derby County game.
