Premiership 2

Barnsley boss Keith Hill believes this year`s Championship is the best it has ever been in terms of the quality of players, teams and resources.

Survival will be tougher than ever but the reds boss believes that Barnsley will have a squad capable of being competitive in the forthcoming season.

The money and influx of foreign players and owners in the Premiership as meant that the championship is now littered with Premiership quality players and teams and teams with resources of premiership clubs.

Hill believes the Championship has become a Premiership 2. It will probably soon be called that too. With league one being the Championship and then the old 4th division becoming division 1? Sounds strange when put like that but definitely a possibility.

Clubs with Barnsley`s resources will find Championship survival increasingly difficult year on year.

Hill is convinced they can beat the odds and continue to survive but knows that recruitment is key and a lot of hard work has to be put in.

I also believe that we will survive and hope to progress from last season. I believe in Hill`s football philosophy and just hope he can get the players he needs.

Think it is a more interesting league to be honest, would not be surprised if at some point they push through and make it PL 2 with less teams in.

Agree that it’s more interesting. Everyone can beat everyone and it’s competititive throughout rather than the top 4 running away from the rest.
