Read-ing all about it

Barnsley are in bother, so what can you do?

Let`s have a good old moan. We, as Britons, are probably the best in the world at complaining.

Okay, so we haven`t had that much to cheer about this season. Not a lot of thrilling games or goals, no F.A. Cup run, or League Cup run, and we`re once again lingering above the relegation zone.

When things are looking quite bad as the season draws to a close, who do we want to play? Certainly not Reading – who we face at the Madejski Stadium this Saturday.

So, it`s clear Simon Davey doesn`t have a lot of fans in the stands. But what can you do? Get down to Berkshire and shout your heart out, that`s what.

That`s all the fans can do, some may call us mugs for forking out every week, but that does give us our right to have our say.

We`re not even relegated yet, and have a game in hand. But, if we did get relegated, would it be the end of the world?

There may be a lot of television money filtering through into the Championship next season, but a season in football isn`t a long time. Football, as a career, is indeed a short one for a professional. I`m not saying we`re going to do a ‘Leicester City` – we probably won`t, but we`re not even down!

Look on the bright side. You may be told to do that all of the time, and if I said ‘put things into perspective` – the argument would probably boil down to someone telling me ‘okay, then. What`s the point in absolutely anything in life?`

We have a good squad, one of the best in years down at Oakwell. We have an even better owner in Patrick Cryne, who has a genuine love for the club, and we aren`t the biggest club in the country.

All in all, what can you do? If you can afford it: get to the remaining few fixtures and get behind the boys.

As we sang last season – Que sera sera.

Come on you Reds!!!!!!!
