Barnsley’s League 1 season continued with a win against Port Vale at Vale Park on Easter Monday.

All Barnsley can do is keep winning, we did this with a one-nil win over Port Vale but Millwall and Yorkshire rivals Bradford are keeping us out of the play-offs at the moment.

Barnsley took an early lead when Conor Hourihane’s 9th-minutes freekick was able to find it’s way into the back of the Port Vale net – that proved to be the winner in the end as the Reds won away for a fourth-match in a row to remain just outside the play-offs.

Here’s a round up of the League 1 action from the other games played in the second half of the Easter weekend….

These were the other results.

Monday 28th March 2016
Wigan 1-0 Rochdale
Bury 0-1 Gillingham
Crewe 0-1 Bradford
Doncaster 0-1 Blackpool
Oldham 1-0 Chesterfield
Port Vale 0-1 Barnsley
Scunthorpe 6-0 Swindon
Millwall 2-0 Burton

These games are to be played.

Tuesday 29th March 2016
Coventry v Colchester

Wednesday 30th March 2016
Southend v Sheff Utd

A familiar scoreline on Easter Monday was one-nil!

Wigan (one-nil) unbeaten run continued with another win with the win over Rochdale moving them closer to a return to the Championship, quite possibly as Champions wit that helped by the results of the leaders Burton (two-nil) later in the day when they were beaten at Millwall.

Those looking to also go up, most likely via the play-off route, are Gillingham, Bradford and Barnsley with all three of them retaining play-off hopes with one-nil wins over Bury, Crewe and Port Vale respectively.

At the other end of the table Blackpool’s (one-nil) win over Doncaster further extended the poor run of form Doncaster have been on, to leave them in serious trouble, with this win at the Keepmoat Stadium moving Pools further away from the bottom four – still work to be done though.

Oldham’s (one-nil) win against Chesterfield helped the Latics’ hopes of staying up too but leaves the Spireites worrying still with it getting tight down the bottom.
