Barnsley’s League 1 season continued with a draw against Scunthorpe at Oakwell on Friday.

Scunthorpe’s bid to make a late run into the play-offs, possibly at our expense, saw them extended an unbeaten run to seven-matches in Graham Alexander’s first game in charge but a place in the play-off places was retained by Barnsley, following this nil-nil draw with the Iron.

But this could be lost to Bradford should they beat Millwall later today….

Adam Davies kept out Scunthorpe’s George Williams with Conor Hourihane twice going close, once kept out by visiting ‘keeper Luke Daniels who turn his second effort over the bar.

Here’s a round up of the League 1 action from the other games played at the start of the Easter weekend….

These were the other results.

Friday 25th March 2016
Barnsley 0-0 Scunthorpe
Blackpool 1-1 Bury
Colchester 4-1 Doncaster
Rochdale 4-1 Southend
Sheff Utd 3-2 Crewe
Shrewsbury 1-1 Port Vale
Swindon 1-4 Wigan
Peterborough 3-1 Coventry

These games are to be played.

Saturday 26th March 2016
Burton v Oldham
Bradford v Millwall
Chesterfield v Fleetwood

The Burton lead (on Friday) anyway was closed by Wigan (four-one), who extended their unbeaten run with a heavy win at Swindon – Barnsley (nil-nil) retained the final play-off place on Friday, but had to settle for a point at Oakwell against Scunthorpe under new boss Graham Alexander.

Looking to get into the top six are Southend (four-one) beaten at Rochdale, so these chances weren’t helped at all, with Sheffield United’s (three-two) hopes helped with a win against struggling Crewe at Bramall Lane.

Colchester (four-one) will still need to pull off something special to stay up but this win against Doncaster, who drop deeper into trouble themselves after this game, took them off the foot of the table after the game at the Weston Homes Community Stadium.
