Barnsley’s League 1 season play-off semi-final first leg ended with a win against Walsall at Oakwell on Saturday.

It couldn’t have been a better first leg for Barnsley could it?

A three-nil win over Walsall leaves the Reds in a strong position to make the final against Bradford or Millwall but this isn’t won yet!

Lloyd Isgrove had Barnsley ahead, or so he though but this was disallowed for offside, which he wasn’t.

After Tom Bradshaw had failed to take a good chance for Walsall Adam Hammill’s effort, on the stroke of half time, was deflected in by Jason Demetriou to put Barnsley ahead.

This wasn’t disallowed!

Sam Winnall doubled this lead when he fired in from the edge of the area within 10-miniutes of the restart and just a minute later Winnall added the third, finishing a fine run with a finish.

As I say this tie isn’t over but if Walsall are to overturn this deficit they’ll have to make history as no side has ever overturned a three-goal defeat in the first leg, with the second leg at the Banks’s Stadium on Thursday.

Here’s a round up of the League 1 play-off action from the other games played….
