Transfer deadline day isn’t going to pass Barnsley by without an arrival as the Official Website has confirmed the arrival of Harry White.

White, brought in from Gloucester City, isn’t too likely to be involved in the Reds’ first-team squad this season but we shouldn’t rule out some involvement under Lee Johnson this term!

Johnson has admitted, initially, the 20-year-old will be part of the development setup under Paul Heckingbottom though, saying.

‘We are pleased to welcome Harry on board. He is a player with good potential and I’m looking forward to keeping an eye on his progress under Paul Heckingbottom within our development squad.

‘This is a fantastic place for young players like Harry as there is a genuine pathway into the first team.’

The Head Coach has shown previously that if he feels players are ready for first-team football they’ll get this regardless of age and experience so as much as I’d be surprised to see White make the step up from the Vanarama North to League 1 instantly could we see some involvement before the campaign is out?

I wouldn’t be ruling that out at all, either way I’ll back Johnson’s judgement on this deal wouldn’t you! And would think White is someone we’ll benefit from whenever his chance comes.
