Davies 6 A couple of good saves but ones that you would expect him to make. Kicking was awful and in general he looks more like the shaky keeper of early last season than the one who played so well at the end of last season.

Roberts 7 Looked a bit shaky to start with but got better and better as the game went on. Won everything in the air and that throw of his is a real weapon.

Mawson 6 I really like what I`ve seen from Mawson in pre-season but didn`t look as solid in this one or as good on the ball.

Nyatanga 6 Steady away but not really suited to playing left back where he was moved to at half time.

Bree 5 At times looked confident and assured. At other times he was a bit suspect defensively. A young lad still learning at this level.

Smith 7 Unlucky to be taken off at half time for tactical reasons. Did well in the first half. Put a few crosses astray but always involved and looking to get forward.

Pearson 6 Given man of the match in the ground. Never stops running. Looks to have improved on the ball.

Scowen 6 Like Pearson full of energy and has more attacking intent than Pearson.

Rothwell 6 Showed glimpses of his talent but struggled to get involved as much as we would like to.

Winnall 6 Still doesn`t look back to his pre injury best.

Watkins 4 Hope I`m wrong but looks to me as though he will just be another player from Scotland who fails to cut it in League One.

Crowley 6 Obvious talent but stuck out on the left instead of his preferred central role.

Hourihane 6 Dead ball master and gets himself in positions to shoot but I`ve never seen a professional try his best to get out of the way of as many headers. Johnson has found his best position – impact sub.
