Adam Davies had a night to forget as his indecision cost the reds the second goal. He was very indecisive all night and got away with a couple of other things.

At the back Bree played well on his return and Yiadom was certainly man of the match playing out of position slightly at left back. Jackson had a mixed debut. Some good things as well as bad but there looks enough there to work with. At the moment I would still go with Roberts and MacDonald though.

In midfield Morsy and Hourihane had decent games against a very good Newcastle midfield. It was never going to be easy for them but they kept going. The wingers were yet again the weak link of the team. Both were poor throughout and Hammill`s reaction was a disgrace but more on that later.

Up front it is hard to criticise either player as the service that they receive is just awful at the moment.
