Here at Vital Barnsley we rate the reds following their 1 – 1 home draw with Aston Villa.

Davies 7
Yiadom 7
Roberts 8
MacDonald 8
Kpekawa 6
Morsy 6
Hourihane 6
SCOWEN 9
Watkins 6
Kent 6
Bradshaw 6

Winnall 7
Armstrong 7
Hammill 7

Davies pulled off a few good saves during the match. I thought he maybe should have done better with the goal but other than that his all round game was good.

At the back Roberts and MacDonald were colossal. Kpekawa looks a bit dodgy but its early days for him as yet. Yiadom seems to get better and better each game but will be disappointed with his part in the goal we conceded.

In midfield, Morsy was steady but nothing more. Hourihane had his poorest game of the season and was more like the Hourihane of last season as we came up against a physical side who gave him no time on the ball. Scowen was magnificent throughout. He seems to be here, there and everywhere but also has quality on the ball and can beat a man.

Out wide I think both players were pretty poor on the night but not for the lack of effort on eithers behalf as they both kept trying. Hammill looked lively when he came on and must surely be starting again at Leeds.

Up front Bradshaw was left isolated at times but worked his socks off. We looked a lot better with two up front and Winnall and Armstrong both played well once introduced.
