Here we rate the players in the goalless draw at home to Wigan.

Davies 6
Bree 6
Roberts 6
Jackson 6
Yiadom 7
Watkins 7
Hourihane 5
Kent 4
Armstrong 6
Winnall 5

Defensively the reds were rarely tested and although the goalkeeper and all members of the back line played well, it is hard to give most of them more than a six because of how little pressure Wigan put them under. Yiadom was the stand out in the back four though as he continued to offer something on the ball.

The strikers are coming in for some stick at the minute and I find it hard to mark them higher than I have given that they didn`t really play the well. However it is not their fault as the service they have been receiving lately has been awful and that lies with the midfield.

Hourihane didn`t have one of his better games for the reds. Scowen had a good game doing the ‘fetching and carrying` but needed licence to get at Wigan more. Watkins had the best game I`d seen him have up until his final ball that is. That part was as poor as ever and goes back to what I was saying about the service to the strikers. Kent was just awful from the first minute to when he was taken off. Every move broke down with him. He`s young and he will have games like this but he`s had too many of late and needs dropping for Hammill.
