Despite being down to ten men for the majority of the game, Reading snatched all three points at Oakwell after a defensive error from the Tykes.

The away side got off to the worst possible start…by arriving late!

The Reading team coach broke down on the way to Oakwell after setting off from their Sheffield-based hotel.

When the match eventually got underway, at a delayed time of 3.15, neither side grabbed a foothold in the match. Reading attacked well but failed to create a real opportunity in the opening stages.

Barnsley never really created any clear-cut chances and Heinz Muller had to be at his best on three separate occasions.

Kebe was dismissed after raising his arms towards Dennis Souza towards the end of the first half.

The visitor’s goal came after Dennis Souza decided it was time to mess about with the ball in his own corner, allowing Kevin Doyle to steal in and set up midfielder Bryn Gunnarson.

It was Barnsley’s second straight 1-0 defeat, with the Reds travelling down to Swansea on Tuesday night.

Reading are a very hard team to beat this season……maybe you should have kicked off on your own at 3pm……just to give you a start…;o)

I think people are giving reading more credit than they deserve – we gifted them a goal. They were to good in the air for us, they won everything. We were also really dire in midfield.
