Ahead of the League 1 game on Saturday with Bradford another loan deal was announced with the Official Website confirming Kadeem Harris had come in on loan.

Harris’ three-month, well to be exact ’93-day’ loan, from Cardiff came in time for the winger to be part of the squad that draw with Bradford at Oakwell. He got on as a sub in this nil-nil draw with the Bantams.

Commenting on his arrival Lee Johnson, as well as admitting and interest in the Bluebirds winger ‘for a while’, said.

‘He’s a good player and a player myself and Tommy Wright have been trying to get hold of for a while.

‘He’s in a very big squad at Cardiff and found opportunities limited but whenever he’s played, he’s done well.

‘We believe in him as a footballer and we felt it was right to bring him in.’

A ‘very, very quick and very direct’ player Johnson added he’ll give a ‘threat from out wide’ and get the ball into the box the likes of Sam Winnall, Conor Wilkinson and Marley Watkins will want.

Much has been made about the amount of loans the Head Coach has made, he’s admitted having six ‘isn’t ideal’ and not what he wanted but if it allowed Barnsley to bring in the players we need he’ll take that route.

He added that we could turn ‘a couple’ of these into permanent deal, which is something the Reds will look to do.

‘Ideally we wouldn’t have six loans, we know that, but it’s fair to say we were chasing our main target – who was a winger – that we didn’t quite get through no fault of our own and we’ve acted really, really quickly to bring in a good player.

‘We’ve still got the potential to turn a couple of our loan signings into permanents and that’s something we will look into.’

The 22-year-old, as many would have already seen, will be wearing the no.27 shirt during this loan spell.

Will this be a loan be one of those that come ‘with an option’ to buy in January perhaps?
