Barnsley are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Marc Roberts in the scoreless draw with Sheffield United at the weekend at Bramall Lane was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Roberts was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘A second successive showing in our Team of the Week for Roberts, who starred for Barnsley in their goalless draw at Sheffield United. In a hard-fought South Yorkshire derby, Roberts and his troops held firm, earning a vital point which has taken them back into the Sky Bet League 1 Play-Off positions.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Roberts for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course keeping Play Off hopes going.

Full Team:

Joel Coleman (Oldham Athletic), Darius Charles (Wimbledon), Lewis Dunk (Brighton), Marc Roberts (Barnsley), Michael Jacobs (Wigan Athletic), Michael O’Connor (Port Vale), Henri Lansbury (Nottingham Forest), Dean Parrett (Stevenage), Chris Taylor (Millwall), James Hanson (Bradford City), Lucas Akins (Burton Albion).

Manager – John Still (Dagenham and Redbridge).
