Rotherham United left back Aiden White yesterday joined Barnsley on an emergency loan spell.

The 24 year old full back has penned a loan spell that will run until January in the New Year with us, and he’s Yorkshire born and a product of Leeds United’s youth academy.

He has over 150 games under his belt and that has come in the Championship and League One.

Speaking to the Official Site White said of his arrival.

‘I`m ready for the challenge. I think we are in a bit of a false position and I`m sure I can help us move up the league table.’

Manager Lee Johnson said of the capture, that despite his tender years he carries an awful lot of experience for that age, so he should be a good fit with the group and he feels he’ll definitely be a good asset for us down the left hand flank.

‘Aidan is a young but experienced full-back who I feel will help us down the left-hand side. He`s made a very similar progression in his career from youth football to competitive football, just as George Smith is striving to make at present. George has been one of our shining lights since making the step up and I feel bringing Aidy in will only help him along at this stage of his career. Aidy is a great addition for us. He`s quick and can play anywhere down the left.’

The gaffer was also briefly quoted about the upcoming Oldham clash on Saturday, and he admitted he was expecting a tough reception.

‘It`s the perfect storm isn`t it? There`ll be 5,000 haters on my back! For anybody out there who doesn`t want me to do well it`s a chance for them to stick the knife in. But that doesn`t worry me, you can never please everyone.’

With that distraction and the arrival of White, maybe that will see an end to our current run of form.
