Barnsley are represented in the latest Football League team of the week that has been selected after this week’s action.

The performance by Josh Scowen in the two one victory over Preston North End at the weekend at Deepdale was enough to earn them a place in the side alongside the other most impressive performers in the Football League pyramid.

I think we’ll already know ourselves, and not just based on the latest performance, why Scowen was selected as part of the team but explaining the choice – the FL blurb read.

‘Adam Armstrong may be making the headlines after netting the Sky Bet Championship goal of the weekend, but Scowen was also in fine fettle during Barnsley’s 2-1 win at Preston North End. The 23-year-old produced a Man of the Match display in the centre of the park to keep the Tykes among the early-season leaders.’

It’s always good to see the club represented in this way, and well played to Scowen for his recognition, but the most important thing about the weekend was of course taking the victory.
