Barnsley manager David Flitcroft will step up his pursuit of a left back and centre back on Wednesday after the Brighton game is out of the way.

Flicker has been searching for a left back who can play the wing back role since the injury to Scott Goldbourne but has now set his sights firmly on a centre half as well.

A long term injury to Jim McNulty and an injury to Rob Edwards whilst out on loan has persuaded Flicker he needs to act.

The reds were going to use their 24 hour recall on Edwards to bring him back as cover but again he is injured.

I think Flicker has been in search of a commanding centre half since he got the job but was being respectful to the players currently at the club when saying the injuries to McNulty and Edwards leaves the squad light in that area.

The Barnsley boss is hopeful that he can sign players for these two positions in time for Saturday against Watford but insists he will only bring in the right players and won`t just sign anyone to appease the fans.
