Barnsley’s Championship meeting against Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in August has had a change to kick off time.

Initially set for 3pm this Championship encounter has seen the start time brought forward following discussions with South Yorkshire Police, reports the Official Website.

Obviously, the Reds will still head to Bramall Lane on Saturday 19th August but this meeting with our Yorkshire rival Blades will now have a 12:30pm kick off.

This will be the first Championship meeting between the sides since April 2011, a 2-2 draw at Bramall Lane on that occasion meant Sheffield United were relegated with the late meeting in Sheffield full stop seeing Barnsley claim a point in April 2016’s 0-0 draw, which clinched the Reds a play-off spot.

Meanwhile, having spent a week in Hungary as part of the pre-season preparations Barnsley are now back in full swing ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Paul Heckingbottom is relishing the challenge ahead in the Championship with the Reds seen as ‘underdogs’ – not that the boss is concerned by this.

He told the Official Website: ‘I love the challenge of us being the underdog. I love working with players, building a team. But it’s about winning. It’s about results at the end of the day.’

It’s those victories Barnsley have achieved that see the Reds a Championship club. Heckingbottom went on to say if the summer goes as planned we’ll secure victories again to build on the recent success.

‘The reason we’ve made the money we have in player sales, the reason we won at Wembley twice and finished higher in the Championship than we’d managed since the year 2000 is because we won football matches. We need a winning team and that’s why this summer is important to us, because if we get this window right, we can then build on it.’
