Barnsley took a confidence boosting six nil victory in the recent trip to Weston-Super-Mare for our most recent pre season warm up game.

The third victory of the pre season campaign as we build into life in the Championship for 2016/17 was secured with a Stefan Payne hattrick, and solo goals from Conor Hourihane, Adam Hammill and new signing Tom Bradshaw had the perfect bow as he finished off the scoring late on in the game to register six.

All six goals on the day came in the second period, and Townsend, Cowgill, Nyatanga, Evans, and Jackson all got 90 minutes under their belts to boost their fitness.

Weston:

Purnell, Withey, Camper, Cane, Pope (Jordan 45), Fortune (Mawford 45), McClennan (Davis 90), Powell (Barnes 45), Richards, Mullings (Wring 90), Kington.

Barnsley:

Townsend, Yiadom (Winnall 71), Cowgill, Nyatanga, Evans, Moncur (Bree 71), Scowen (Hourihane 45), Jackson, Watkins (Hammill 45), Payne (White 71), Tuton (Bradshaw 71).

Goals – Payne (50, 59, 63), Hourihane (72), Hamill (78), Bradshaw (80).

Fantastic start for Bradshaw following his arrival at Oakwell, and hopefully the first goal of many from him, along with Payne finding form.
