Barnsley have agreed a deal with Stoke to extend the loan of George Waring.

Initially the 20-year-old came to Oakwell on a one-month loan deal, making his debut with a goal, and has since gone on to make another three appearances – in total it’s four-appearances with the one game for us.

He’ll spend the remainder of the season with us now with an extension officially announced this evening, much to his delight as staying with us is something that he’s told the official website he wanted.

That wish has been granted with him keen to keep playing and learning as he seeks to become a better player.

Waring said: ‘I’m very happy to sign until the end of the season. I’ve enjoyed the last month so far. I can hopefully keep myself in the team and learning things to take back with me at the end of the season.

‘I’ve certainly learned things that I need to work on to make me a better player.’

More Man of the Match performances, like the one at the weekend, and a few more goals like his debut one wouldn’t go amiss….
